Imagining Snap’s World

I am interested in our ancestors. How did we humans come to be us – to look and act and think as we do? Paleoanthropologists — people who study human ancestors — have amazing tools to help them try to answer these questions, but they all face the same limitation: the past is unchangeable. No experiments can be done, no knob-twiddling, no trying again, the participants can’t be interviewed. Scientists who study the distant past tackle this problem with various ingenious methods — I fill in the blanks with speculation.
